Funding Solicitations Requested by the Center for Families

The Center for Families at Purdue recently announced its 2021 Funding Program. Purdue faculty and students conducting family-based research are invited to apply for Center for Families 2021 Funding Opportunities. Application deadline is January 15, 2021. Past funded research has included students and faculty from HDFS, Nutrition, Engineering Education, and more.

The Center for Families annually provides funding to Purdue faculty and students to support family research across campus. Opportunities include a faculty fellowship of up to $10,000, a $500 award to support undergraduate involvement in research, and many grants for graduate students, some of which may especially appeal to those who are interested in nutrition, policy, or interdisciplinary approaches to family research. This year the Center is also offering the McAllister Fellowship which is only offered every 3-5 years.

A few examples of previously funded research include (by faculty or students):

  • Walking for our health: A Couple-Focused Approach to Promote Physical Activity
  • Gender Variant Children and Their Families
  • Evaluating the Effect of SNAP-Ed on Household Food Security Status and Nutrient Intake of SNAP Eligible Participants in Indiana
