Celebrating the Centennial of Robert F. Williams

The School of Interdisciplinary Studies and the African American Studies program invite the campus community to celebrate the centennial of Robert F. Williams (1925–1996), a pioneering American civil rights leader, author, and advocate for Black self-determination.

A two-day symposium will be held on Wednesday, October 22, and Thursday, October 23, at the Black Cultural Center (1100 3rd Street, West Lafayette, IN). The event will feature presentations, poetry readings, and discussions led by distinguished scholars and students exploring Williams’s life, writings, and legacy in the global Black freedom struggle.

Attendees are welcome to join in person or virtually via Zoom.
