Suzanne Ryan to Speak on Academic Book Publishing

Former Editor-in-Chief for Humanities at Oxford University Press, Suzanne Ryan, will discuss with Purdue University staff the topic of “Navigating Academic Book Publishing: What to Expect, What to Do, and How to Do It Well.” The ‘virtual residency’ session is scheduled for Friday March 26, 2021 at Noon EST. Suzanne Ryan spent 15 years at Oxford University Press, where she served as Editor in Chief of Humanities in the Academic and Trade division based in New York City, and as Executive Editor of Music, managing the Music books program for Oxford globally. Prior to OUP, Suzanne was Music Editor at Indiana University Press and Assistant Editor of Anthropology, Religion, and Philosophy at Columbia University Press.

She holds degrees in the History of Religions from the University of Chicago, in Opera Studies and Performance from DePaul University and the New England Conservatory of Music, and is currently completing a Masters of Public Affairs in policy analysis and cultural policy at the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Indiana University-Bloomington.
