Dean Knudsen PhD Dissertation Award Calls for Applications
The Knudsen Dissertation Award supports students in the process of completing their dissertation research. The award can be used for an array of costs and expenses related to data collection, data acquisition, and analysis for either quantitative or qualitative projects. Permissible expenses include, but are not limited to, payments for surveys or compensation for interviews, travel costs associated with data collection, and software for analysis that is not otherwise available at Purdue.
The award may cover costs up to $2,000. Recipients of the Knudsen Award may re-apply for continuing support in subsequent years but may not receive a continuation award more than once.

- Letter of support from major professor/advisor
Eligibility
- PhD candidates in the College of Liberal Arts

This award honors and commemorates Professor Emeritus of Sociology Dean Knudsen’s outstanding devotion to graduate education and the untiring support of his students during his 35-year career at Purdue as a member of the Sociology faculty.
