CLA Taking Presubmissions for Clifford B. Kinley Trust

CLA is currently accepting presubmissions for the 2020-2021 Clifford B. Kinley Trust, presented by the Office of the Vice President for Research. The deadline for submission is Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 5 PM ET.

The Kinley Trust was established to fund research which uses a social science perspective to explore methods for improving the human condition. The competition is limited to Purdue West Lafayette, tenure track/tenured, and research principal investigators (PIs).

As noted in the guidelines, successful proposals will describe stand-alone independent projects (not a dependent component of a larger program), which are grounded in theory, have a clear relationship to the literature, and have a fully-described methodology. Project budgets should not exceed $20,000 total costs, and awarded funds should be expended within a standard project period of one year.

Please submit your preproposal as a single PDF file, via the CLA InfoReady page URL listed above, no later than Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 5 PM EDT so CLA administrators can review and rank the proposals before forwarding them to the OVPR for further consideration. The one-page template is available on the CLA InfoReady page.According to the OVPR, “Descriptions longer than one page or deviations from the application template will be returned without review. References are not allowed in pre-proposal applications.”
